Acts as a resource and shift lead in the daily operations and activities of the assigned department.

Scope of EVS Tech Lead role:

1. Leads the work of the associates in the environmental services department. Implements directives related to adjusting staffing levels based on service needs and volumes. Acts as a resource and provides technical support.

2. Participates and leads improvement initiatives and implementation of new procedures. Coordinates orientation and training of new associates. Ensures staff competency through proper training techniques and conducts quality audits and inspections.

3. Participates in problem solving to address issues relating to patient safety, care and service. Assists with implementation of any new chemicals and assuring the SDS (Safety Data Sheets) are current.

4. Controls and monitors Isolation Room Swabbing using ATP Technology along with use of Ultraviolet Infection Control System (TRU-D) in reducing hazardous pathogens in the environment.

5. May participate in human resource functions. May participate in the interview process and provides feedback to leadership team on candidates. Provides education/training and performance feedback for associates in the department. Participates in policy and procedure development. Presents and documents staff meetings as required.

6. Monitors supply and equipment inventory. Notifies leadership team of needed equipment repairs and scheduled preventative maintenance. Participates in leading quality and performance improvement initiatives. Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory guidelines and established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance program, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

7. Promotes mission, vision, and values of Intermountain Health, and abides by service behavior standards.

8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education:

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

Certification/License:

Required: Biohazardous Waste is required within 6 months of hire and AHE (Association for Healthcare Environment) CHEST (Certified Healthcare Environmental Services Technician) and UV are required at certain care sites.

Experience:

Required: Two (2) years experience in environmental services is required.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$18.29 - $21.92
