IMEG is growing, and we'd love to have you join our team! We are currently seeking a Civil Project Engineer in our Kalispell, MT office to support private land development projects.As a Civil Project Engineer you will be responsible for:

Scope

As a Civil Project Engineer, you will be responsible for Assisting with some Project Manager duties with detailed engineering analysis in the preparation of engineering reports, permit applications and construction plan preparation. Individuals in this position will participate in Learning & Development opportunities focused on personal and career growth, with the potential to advance into a high performing Project Manager role in the future. You will direct and train Civil Design Technicians and/or Civil Designers.

Independently evaluate, plan, and conduct work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation/modification of standard techniques, procedures and criteria. May devise new alternatives/approaches to problems encountered, and able to perform difficult and technically challenging work with a specialty area. May exercise project leadership in a technical or managerial way on certain projects or oversee portions of large projects.

Principal Responsibilities

  • Assist PMs with writing proposals.

  • Assist PMs in resourcing staff and scheduling work.

  • Most work will be related to support of land use Development and Civil Site Design.

  • Coordination of planning, survey, municipal, transportation, traffic and other civil departments and disciplines.

  • Responsible for directing staff in the design of on-site water and sewer systems per the local regulations.

  • Responsible for coordinating water, sewer, and storm water designs for Subdivision projects including the initial preliminary design to support the entitlement process.

  • Responsible for Field Inspections and/or directing other technical staff in efforts to certify improvements meet the plans as approved.

  • Complete permit applications for a variety of agencies.

  • Possess an understanding of materials and methods.

  • The Civil Project Engineer must be able to interpret state and local design criteria and apply it to the specific project needs.

  • Regularly has work assignments checked by peer or supervisor.

  • The Civil Project Engineer will direct and train Civil Designers to assist them in completing reports, exhibits, plans and specifications and permit applications as required by the project's contractual scope.

  • Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents.

Skills

  • Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision. technical plans and drawings.

  • Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in construction.

  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.

  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.

  • Self-motivation and the ability to read, understand, and implement regulations and design standards into your work.

  • Ability to prioritize workload, while exercising adaptability and flexibility with a wide range of projects and tasks.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering

  • Professional Engineer license

  • Four to six eight years of experience of engineering design in an engineering firm. Ideal Candidate will have 2 or more years of experience with Montana based projects.

  • Experience with storm water design preferred.

  • Experience of both rural and public water and wastewater treatment design preferred.

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to sit, walk, stand, talk, see, hear, and lift objects up to 25 pounds.

  • Occasionally required to drive, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, reach with hands or arms, and grasp or pull.

  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises
